Automatic monitorswitch for classic Amiga from Germany

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

This is too cool to be true, on a1k.org user Ratte have made himself a very professional looking automatic monitor switch so that Amiga can switch between native screenmode and RTG-modes just as if you where running a CyberVision64-3D with scandoubler or Picasso IV.

I guess this device is specifically made for the Indivision, but it should be easy to modify pinouts to work with other scandoublers (however why would you, Indivision is the best).

You can be sure I am already saving up euro for at least one of these cool switches :D

New scandoubler for Amiga

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Recently a second hand external Amiga scandoubler went for about 900 dollars on eBay. Scandoublers and flicker fixers are one of the most sought after hardware devices for Amiga fans. There are rumors that a couple of different scandoublers are under development but until those are released you can preorder a scandoubler made by a private person who previously have made scandoublers for Atari.

The scandoubler is mounted in an external box, connects to 23-pin video port of Amiga and works great with TFT. Best of all is price, 65 dollar excl shipping is really good price.

Negative parts it that it does not show full palette in AGA modes (as most scandoublers do no).

For more information about ordering one yourself, read here (link to Amigaworld forums)
