New version of Hatari the Atari ST emulator for Amiga

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Hatari is an SDL-based Atari ST emulator for AmigaOS 4. The new version of the emulator is 1.0.31 and the changens are many, for example better DSP emulation core and better joystick routines.

Atari had a really unique demo scene, so why not check it out with the Hatari Atari ST emulator (instead of going to YouTube, but I know you will take the easy route and check them out on YouTube).

FTP software for AmigaOS 4 Petes FTP

Friday, November 14th, 2008

I guess that if you run AmigaOS 4 some day you will want to run an FTP client. Pete’s FTP have just recently been upgraded to version number 0.4 and can handle both FTP and SFTP connections.

It seems like a great FTP program, to bad I’m to lazy to fire up my A4000 running OS4 to try it out.

Minimig Amiga games and programs compatibility database up

Monday, November 10th, 2008

The Minimig is the Amiga 500 clone that shock up the Amiga world by storm in Amiga.org during late summer 2005 to the point some members questioned if the project was a prank. It was not, it is actually possible for a single guy to design and create an Amiga 500 clone all by himself.

The Minimig is not however 100% compatible with an Amiga 500 so some applications and games does not work but Minimig is work in progress so the list of working applications and Amiga games is by no means definitive.

Check out the Minimig compatibility database

And if you begin to salivate over a Minmig (I know you want one) check out Acubes or Amigakits homepage!

Old unreleased Amiga game made in Iraq shakes up Amiga world

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Yes, you read it right, at least one commercial Amiga game was made in Iraq during the heydays of Amiga. Sadly it was never released but now you can enjoy a demo version of it.

Babylonian Twins is the name of the game and it is actually a great looking classic platform game.

In a perfect world, the complete game will be released for free to the Amiga world while commercial versions are released for cell phones etc.

Babylonian Twins is a platform computer game that was originally developed for the Commodore Amiga between 1993 and 1994 but was never released due to the demise of Commodore. The game was developed in Baghdad-Iraq during the difficult economic sanctions period. The game is considered to be the first commercial game ever developed in Iraq and that region.

The site for Babylonian Twins has the info!
